Q: I receive the message: The remote computer
disconnected the session because of an error in the licensing
protocol?
A: Your Terminal Services CAL (Client Access License) has
become corrupted on your local machine. Follow these steps:
- Start -> Run -> Regedit
- Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
- Expand Software
- Expand Microsoft
- Right-click on MSLicensing, then choose DELETE
- Confirm YES
- Quit Registry Editor
- If you have Windows XP or earlier, go to step 10
- For Windows Vista, Left Click> Start --> All
Programs --> Accessories --> Remote Desktop
Connection --> Run As Administrator
- Attempt to attach to the remote computer again
