Q: How Good are Dell Computers?

A: I think they are the best you can buy.  I have literally recommended hundreds of them from the most humble entry level Dimension to some really high-end, kick butt Poweredge Servers that I host in my data center.  The bottom line is, they just work.  Because Dell sells direct and has such a huge volume, their prices are unbeatable.  I own personally own six Dell computers myself, including the laptop I'm typing this very sentence on.
