Q: Are AMD Processors Better Than Intel Processors?

Bookmark and Share

A: For years I was an Intel purist, but a few years ago when Dell started offering some AMD processors in a few models, I came around to AMD.  I haven't seen a single issue of there being some sort of incompatability with AMD processors, and in many cases they are very cost effective.  I would recommend shopping based on price, and if you can save a bunch of money on AMD - do it.

The latest trend is to put multiple cores on one processor.  Initially we saw dual core processors, and now quad processors are becoming more mainstream. Be sure to get at least a dual core processor.  I am amazed at how well they perform, both for Intel and AMD.
